Mindo.....Capitol of omg

This place is incredible. All 3 of us want to move here. Anyone want to join us?

After missing the last direct bus from Quito to Mindo, we were advised to take a cab here. Beautiful drive from urban high Andes to lush low grounds of the Cloud Forest. We were awed just watching the change in scenery.

We arrived to a town where no one speaks English, there are no street signs and no one had a map.... :-/ Fortunately, all I had to say was Casa de Cecilia and and i got a knowing smile while someone ran to a phone. Moments later Paola arrived who runs Casa de Cecilia. She speaks very good broken English but plenty for us to communicate. We walked a very short distance across the plaza, up a road, past a beautiful river and to our treehouse of a hostal.

Paola has been extremely helpful which has made for some wonderful experiences! Yesterday afternoon we went to a Butterfly farm and also did a tour of a tiny cacao farm, chocolatier. They sell their chocolate here in Mindo and in Michigan, apparently the only 2 places in the world! Ill post again with more info about yesterday and today.
